Intercare takes on Dubai Metro challenge

Category: Cleaning & Hygiene

The challenge was to ensure that a ride in the Metro not only served its purpose of transportation but to give its commuters a very pleasant experience.

RTA and the operators of the Dubai Metro, M/s Serco, employed stringent quality procedures to achieve this objective.

.One key component for this guarantee of comfort was the hygiene and cleanliness of all the stations and more importantly, the metro train itself.

As the window of time, to do deep cleaning was severely restricted (only night time cleaning allowed), it was necessary to employ cleaning equipment that was highly productive, efficient and that would suit the job at hand.

It was also imperative that a company with a proven track record, who would be a willing partner rather than a supplier, a company which would have world-class international products in its portfolio, and would team up to make this project a mega success.

Another point to be considered was the reliability of after sales service and the ability of the supplier to efficiently respond to the maintenance requirement that may arise in day to day operation - 24/7.

After much deliberation which included live demonstration of products in simulated conditions, Intercare Ltd was selected for this immensely prestigious project, as it could meet all the stringent conditions.

Intercare’s unique ability to offer products, to suit any type of cleaning need / challenge was duly recognised.

Brands from multi-national giants like Taski (Switzerland), Dulevo (Italy), Comac (Italy), Truvox (UK) and Prototecnica (Italy) as well as Intercare brand of products, were employed to be task specific and to achieve optimum results.

Intercare on its part set up a 24 hour emergency service team to serve the requirements of Metro, so the whole operation could run seamlessly.

Supplies of washroom hygiene products, an industry where Intercare is renowned for providing efficient timely service was also duly recognised by Serco, the company with the exclusive management contract for Dubai Metro.

Intercare was awarded the contract for providing feminine hygiene products, a very important and often neglected constituent of a clean washroom.

Here again, Intercare demonstrated its willingness and rose up to the challenge of providing service during night hours with the deployment of a special team, thereby once again committing itself to Dubai and to this pioneering project. Intercare does truly ‘try harder’.

September 9 2009, was a historic day in the annals of mass transportation in Dubai. Dubai Metro was officially inaugurated and it brought a sigh of relief to the teeming thousands of harassed commuters who could now enjoy a fast, convenient, and efficient transportation.
