Logistics has become the mainstay of modern civilization. Over the years, man has learnt to develop efficient storage, retrieval and transportation systems that enable us to put groceries and consumer products on supermarket shelves on virtually a daily basis.
Moreover, with consumerism and globalization being the two principle driving forces of today’s economy, the demand for highly efficient and reliable distribution systems has increased, requiring the creation of warehouses at well-planned stages of the supply chain.
The intense requirement for sophisticated warehousing is evident in Dubai due to its strategic location, which has made it the main transit hub for the Middle East. Today there are many multinational companies using their warehouses in Jebel Ali and other Free Zones as storage and re-distribution centres for export to other parts of the Middle East and North Africa. Upcoming projects like Dubai Logistics City, Dubai Investment Park and Dubai Techno Park are also adding to the growth in warehousing. 
While the immediate functional requirement within a warehouse is material handling equipment like pallets, forklifts, reach trucks, very narrow aisle trucks, low lift trucks etc, it is also important for a warehouse to equip itself with cleaning machinery that helps to control the dust, dirt and sand from constant forklift traffic; prevent product contamination; and keep floors clean and attractive for visitors.
Most of the dirt inside a warehouse is brought in by forklifts, whose wheels pick up dirt, sand and dust from the parking lot outside. The constant traffic of forklifts presents a problem as electronic items very sensitive to dirt and dust. Warehouses storing food and beverage items also have to be kept spotlessly clean.
Realizing the growing need for warehouse cleaning equipment in the UAE, Kärcher Middle East decided to step into this niche area at a time when most warehouses were being cleaned manually while a few others were using cleaning equipment from other manufacturers.
