A website www.enviro-cities. com/2012 has been launched for publicity activities for EnviroCities - 2012, the third International Environmental Conference, jointly organised by Dubai Municipality, Al Madinah Regional Municipality (KSA) and The Environmental Center for Arab Towns under the title, “Climate Change: The Role of Cities” to be held 3 -5 December 2012 at Le Meridien Madina Hotel, KSA. Asst. Director General, Dubai Municipality, Obeid Salem Al Shamsi stated this after the sixth sitting of the higher governing body for the international conference. “Planning and preparations for the upcoming event is at a desirable pace and we hope the newly launched website will do a good job on the publicity front,” he said. “It would discuss various thematic aspects of the conference and due update of the activities would be available for followers.”

According to him the conference aims to improve the environmental situation in Arab cities and offer the delegates a platform for exchanging ideas and discussing the role of cities in climate change including strategies and initiatives across the region. The conference is expected to bring together more than 500 delegates, leading figures in the field from around the world including government officials, corporate heads, NGOs, companies, researchers and planners. Hamdan Khalifa Al Shaer, D i re c to r, Env i ronment Department, Khalid Badri, Director, Corporate Marketing and Relations Department and Ahmed Al Salman, Head of Media section also attended the meeting.
