Green Technologies forms tie-up with

Category: Cleaning & Hygiene

Nasser Pharmacy, Bahrain's leading healthcare product and equipment supplier, has partnered with Green Air Technology to introduce AiroCide, a unique and patented airborne contamination control device, to the Bahrain market.

The product delivers 99.99987 per cent clean air in a single pass using patented and proprietary NASA-developed technology to eliminate airborne pathogenic and benign bacteria, moulds, mould fungi, viruses, dust mites, allergens, odours and harmful volatile organic compounds, from the environment.

"Airborne infections are one of the largest dangers to human life," said pharmaceutical director Dr Adel Khalaf."The recent spates of epidemics that have led to many unfortunate fatalities have all been caused by airborne contaminants.

"The AiroCide technology ensures that all air contaminants are completely eliminated up to 99.9998pc kill rate in a single pass, creating a safe and healthy environment for us to live and breathe.

"This is truly rocket science, and it eliminates all known micro organisms," he said."The AiroCide technology comes with the ability to deliver unparalleled air purification, making public places safe and healthy.

"This includes airports, hospitals, offices, public transport, cinemas, malls, supermarkets and schools," he added.

It also has uses in the food industry. Post-installation test results showed a successful elimination of all biological air contaminants and witnessed phenomenal results up to 98.33pc kill rate of moulds, bacteria and ethylene gas count resulting in longer shelf life and higher quality produce.

"AiroCide eliminates any biological material - that comes in contact with its proprietary matrix regardless of size, oxidising the organic matter, thereby releasing only crisp clean fresh air," said Dr Khalaf.

"The technology has shown meaningful reductions in infections and diseases causes in healthcare applications such as operating theatres, intensive care units and hospital rooms."

US-based Akida Holdings International business president Tareque Pirzada said that the product was also beneficial to food manufacture, storage and distribution facilities as well as supermarkets as it improves and significantly extends shelf life.

"In places where large groups gather, such as large companies, hospitals, and airports, airborne infectious organisms increase the likelihood of contracting illnesses from the environment," said Pirzada.

"The technology will help protect patients, clients and employees, by preventing the spread of any contamination being brought in by people using the space. The technology is affordable so it can also be used in households to improve the air quality and allow a safer environment for all the family. It eliminates all airborne allergens and germs in the home environment,” said Pirzada.
