It is a system that features a hybrid energy cell that provides maintenance and free power for 30 years. The hybrid energy system utilises patented technology that prevents high-current draws, resulting in a very long life. In addition to that, it does not require constant use of solar system or repeated maintenance to operate.
The hybrid energy system is created with environment-friendly materials, free of mercury and heavy metals. Since Insight Touchless faucets run on hybrid energy cells, they prevent untold numbers of alkaline and lithium batteries from burdening the world’s landfills.
The Insight sensor technology is a low-energy-draw sensor technology which allows the faucet to harvest the full potential of the power source. The Hybrid energy system is engineered so as to perform with little to no self-discharge and store energy significantly longer than a traditional battery. Even when it’s time to change the Hybrid energy cell, Kohler will recycle it at the in-house sustainability facility.
Kohler combines the innovative technology of the Hybrid energy system with the adaptive infrared technology of Insight faucets to offer an efficient and lasting energy solution. With greater power storage and reduced discharge, the Hybrid energy cell can complete at least 1.5 million cycles based on one use every 10 minutes, 24 by 7, 365 days a year for 30 years.
The faucets come as a deck mount and a wall mount as well in the sculpted, geometric, falling mount and purist ranges with a solid brass construction, vandal resistant aerator and an optional vibrant stainless(-VS) PVD finish.
