Greg Minor has been appointed the City of Palm Bay Facilities Director. He has more than 20 years of experience working for Brevard County and most recently served as the South Area Parks Operations Manager where he oversaw facilities management and construction. He will begin his new role with the City of Palm Bay on November 12.
While working for Brevard County, Minor was responsible for over 250,000 square feet of occupied building space, HVAC systems, electrical systems, landscape design and maintenance, janitorial services and security systems. He also facilitated the process for entitlements and permits at the County.
“I am extremely confident he will excel at handling all facility operations and the day-to-day functions of the Palm Bay Facilities Department,” said Palm Bay City Manager Gregg Lynk. As facilities director, Minor will lead a team of 18 employees that includes plumbers, electricians and HVAC techs, as well as skilled trade and maintenance workers.
The City of Palm Bay Facilities Department is responsible for the maintenance, construction, renovation and emergency repair of the city’s 58 existing buildings and facilities. The department is also responsible for contract administration for vendors including the city’s janitorial and security services.
Additionally, Palm Bay’s partnership with Honeywell, which is intended to promote energy savings and improve efficiency in city buildings through a series of incremental upgrades and improvements, is administered through the facilities department.
