Middle East Cleaning, Hygiene & Facilities Awards 2019

The second edition of the Middle East Cleaning, Hygiene & Facilities Awards was recently held at Ritz-Carlton DIFC, Dubai on April 18, 2019. The evening brought together over 300 guests from the cleaning, hygiene and FM industry and representatives from recognised hospitality groups, hospitals and developers under one roof. The event was supported by Gold Sponsor: Intercare Ltd, Silver Sponsor: Kärcher Middle East, Dinner Sponsor: Diversey and Lanyard Sponsor Dussmann Gulf. The category sponsors included: EPSCO; Kimberly Clark Professional; Diversey; Grako; Rons Enviro Care; Khansaheb, Ejadah; CHEMEX and ServeU. The gala event began with a networking session allowing the guests including the suppliers, service providers and the end users to connect and interact.

MECHF Awards is a celebration of success and excellence in the commercial and institutional cleaning, hygiene and soft FM industries in the region; hence there was a perfect mix of categories such as The Best Maintained Public Washroom, Excellence in Food Hygiene, Excellence in Infection Control in Healthcare, Excellence in Training, Commitment to Sustainability along with awards like Top Cleaning Company, Specialised Cleaning Company, Best Housekeeper, etc., catering to various stakeholders in the cleaning and hygiene sector. The 2nd edition of the awards received over 140 nominations in 15 categories, which was judged by an independent panel of six jury members who worked painstakingly on each nomination and delivered the results exceptionally within record time. The esteemed jury comprised some of the industry’s most experienced professionals.

The highlight of the event was the newly introduced category the Lifetime Achievement Award, which was presented to John Colley, Chairman of Intercare Ltd. Colley has been associated with the cleaning and hygiene industry for almost 50 years and has made a huge contribution in the growth and development of this industry in the region. Another remarkable achievement observed during the event was The Best Supplier-End User Partnership won by Karcher Middle East & Siraj Power. Karcher and Siraj Power have taken on the challenge of cleaning large solar panel installations across the UAE. With parameters like cleaning methods, efficiencies, time and electricity generation, both companies are working towards green technologies and green efficiency. The evening concluded on a grand note with the Industry Personality of the Year Award being presented to Pamini Hemaprabha, Complex Executive Housekeeper, Mina Seyahi Complex.
