The British Standards Institution (BSI) has launched a certification scheme and supporting training courses to help organisations develop, implement and maintain effective facilities management across all operations.
This new scheme, which is part of BSI’s wider Built Environment offering, is based on the international standard ISO 41001 Facility management. Management systems. Requirements with guidance for use. To achieve certification to the standard, organisations undergo an independent assessment including a rigorous on-site audit covering all the requirements of ISO 41001. ISO 41001 recognises the value facilities management delivers as part of an organisation’s strategic direction. It provides guidance to organisations on how to manage the life cost and usability of assets, services and obligations to workspace users and control the environmental impacts of operations.
